Department of General Medicine

Internal medicine or general medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists, or physicians. The Department of General Medicine is one of the largest departments at Al Hilal Hospitals & Medical Centers. Within the department sits the sub-specialty Infectious Diseases, Immunization, Rheumatology, Immigrant Health, and Clinical Pharmacology. The department aims to provide the highest quality of care to our patients based on evidence. In addition, the department has significant outpatient clinic activity that includes General Medicine, continence, upper airways, emergency review, chronic fatigue, immigrant health, infectious diseases, rheumatology, immunization, dermatology.

Given the diversity and skill set of its clinical staff, the department is well placed and actively seeks opportunities to collaborate with other departments to optimize and streamline the care we provide to our patients.
